The 60-Second Reading Intervention Programme is designed to increase reading speed, fluency and comprehension skills in KS1 children with regular reading booster sessions. This teacher guide provides an overview of the programme and how it can address gaps in reading skills. It includes clear instructions on how to analyse the data produced during each booster session. Each session is designed to last around 10 to 15 minutes and provide a quick, fun and engaging way to improve reading progression. There are two full sets of texts in the 60-Second Reading Intervention Programme. Each set progresses in difficulty across ten reading levels. Each level has a poetry text, a fiction text and a non-fiction text. All texts are accompanied by questions designed to boost children’s comprehension skills. All texts include a home learning activity.
